Fairbourne Railway
Attraction
It’s the smallest of Wales’s narrow-gauge railways, with a track width of only 12¼ins. So it’s dinky, it’s sweet – but it takes you on a railway ride through the dunes to some pretty big views of the Mawddach Estuary and mountains beyond.
Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
Attraction
We have officially reopened here at the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and we are delighted to share with you our four new package experiences!
Take a look at our new set of journey experiences for this Spring/Summer:
Llanfair Slate Caverns
Attraction
The slate in this mine, which is found in veins between layers of ancient Pre-Cambrian rocks, is among the oldest in the world. Many industrial towns in Britain and Ireland have the original roofs made of Llanfair slate.
Porthmadog Maritime Museum
Attraction
Porthmadog’s bustling harbour was even busier 150 years ago. Discover the reason at this museum, which tells the story of the port’s shipbuilding and slate exporting heyday.
Portmeirion
Attraction
Portmeirion was created by the architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976. He wanted to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it.
Yr Ysgwrn
Attraction
On sun filled summer days, there is no wonder that Hedd Wyn was a reluctant soldier, he was happy at home, he enjoyed the harvest, and he thrived with a pen.
