Bennar Beach

Bennar’s fine, sandy beach is backed by the occasional sand dune. These sand dunes are of Special Scientific Interest, since they are constantly developing and therefore changing their environment.

Dolbadarn Castle
Attraction
Probably built by Llywelyn ab Iorwerth ('the Great') early in the thirteenth century, the castle is dominated by a massive round-towered keep, still standing up to 50 feet (15.2m) high.

Llanberis Lake Railway

This lovely little line runs alongside Llyn Padarn in the Padarn Country Park for a there-and-back journey of five miles. Stop off for a lakeside picnic at Cei Llydan, or visit the National Slate Museum at Gilfach Ddu.
National Slate Museum

The National Slate Museum is sited in the Victorian workshops built in the shadow of Elidir mountain, site of the vast Dinorwig quarry.

The description ‘Country Park’ doesn’t really do this place justice. Ranged around the lake of Llyn Padarn, there’s everything here from watersports to walking, wildlife to industrial heritage, woodlands to inspiring mountain views.
