Abersoch is home to one of the most popular beaches on the Llŷn Peninsula – it’s certainly amongst the liveliest. The main beach is perfect for lounging since it’s in a beautiful, shady location.

The golf course at Abersoch is gaining a very positive reputation for the challenge it provides, the views that are seen from the course, and the welcome in the clubhouse.

Even though the name suggests a dark beach, you won’t see much in the way of blackness. Black Rock Sands is an open, wide beach with fine sands.

In 1800, a 15 year-old girl called Mary Jones walked 26 miles from Llanfihangel-y-Pennant to Bala to buy a book.

South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club (SCYC) is perched on the headland next to Abersoch main beach and offers stunning views of St Tudwal’s islands, Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia from the Club bar and renowned Cove restaurant.

There are extraordinary views of the Llŷn Peninsula from this unusual little village. Trefor developed thanks to the local granite quarry. Its small harbour became extremely busy in the days when the granite was shipped to all over Europe.
