Harlech Beach

Overlooking Harlech’s huge, peaceful beach is a symbol of past conflict – mighty Harlech Castle, a World Heritage Site. There’s good access to the beach from a 440 yard/400m path from the car park close to the railway line crossing.

Inigo Jones Slate Works

Inigo Jones Slate Works was founded in 1861 mainly to prefabricate school writing slates. Today the company uses the same raw material namely 500 million year old Welsh slate to produce architectural, memorial, landscape and craft products.
Llanberis Lake Railway

This lovely little line runs alongside Llyn Padarn in the Padarn Country Park for a there-and-back journey of five miles. Stop off for a lakeside picnic at Cei Llydan, or visit the National Slate Museum at Gilfach Ddu.

Llandanwg, between Barmouth and Harlech, is famous for its church which stands just a stone’s throw from the sea. The beach is sheltered from strong winds, making it a perfect place for relaxation.
