Aberdyfi, one of Gwynedd’s most attractive coastal villages, stands in an idyllic spot where mountains meet the sea at the mouth of the River Dyfi.

Abererch’s beautiful beach, an ideal place for families, extends all the way to Pwllheli. It’s pristine and unspoilt, with a shallow gradient and wonderful views of Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia.

Set at the north-east end of Bala Lake, Bala Sailing Club gives easy access to this popular sailing venue, one of the most picturesque sailing waters in Wales.

A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect.

Built for Edward I, by Master James of St George, Conwy Castle is amongst the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain.
