Fairbourne Railway
Attraction
It’s the smallest of Wales’s narrow-gauge railways, with a track width of only 12¼ins. So it’s dinky, it’s sweet – but it takes you on a railway ride through the dunes to some pretty big views of the Mawddach Estuary and mountains beyond.
Portmeirion
Attraction
Portmeirion was created by the architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976. He wanted to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it.
Segontium Roman Fort
Attraction
Remains of an auxiliary Roman fort, probably established in the late 70s AD and modified through to the late fourth century.
