Wil Rowlands Art Exhibition at STORIEL
- 14 September 2019 - 4 January 2020
Wil Rowlands explores the erosion of things we see and of things we feel, and considers the consequence of that change. At the heart of his way of working lies experimentation that often leads the artist and viewer to the unexpected.
Whilst that erosion is in everything about us, and as things gradually disappear, yet Wil sees another beauty take its place. He responds to that change in land, people, place, language and the passage of time.
His experimental way of working often leads to humour and pathos and a questioning emotion. It is therefore relevant that Wil’s process of working involves abrading the surface of the work many times whilst also building up new layers of surface; upwards, downwards, upwards and moving on.
