Inigo Jones Slate Works was founded in 1861 mainly to prefabricate school writing slates. Today the company uses the same raw material namely 500 million year old Welsh slate to produce architectural, memorial, landscape and craft products.

This enormous 19th-century neo-Norman castle sits between Snowdonia and the Menai Strait. It's crammed with fascinating items, such as a one-ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria, elaborate carvings, plasterwork and mock-Norman furniture.

Plas Brondanw was given to Sir Clough Williams-Ellis by his father in 1902. The gardens at Plas Brondanw are the finest example of Sir Clough’s talent for creative landscape design.

This beach’s dramatic English name is based not just on its semicircular shape resembling a wide, open mouth. Its hellish dimension comes from a savage, south-westerly aspect that offers precious little shelter to sailors.
