This small, picturesque National Trust beach, backed by steep grassy cliffs, is on the Llŷn Heritage Coast. It’s famously known as ‘Whistling Sands’, a nickname based on the sound the granules make underfoot when you walk over its gleaming sand.

Sygun Copper Mine

A remarkable underground experience. Abandoned in 1903 but now reopened to visitors, Sygun tells the story of Victorian miners. Nowadays, it’s hard to believe that such gritty industrial heritage exists amongst so much natural beauty.

Bardsey Island is open for visitors from March until October. Day trips are available and weekly stays can be booked with the Bardsey Island Trust.
