Welcome to the official website for the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast region. The biggest, boldest mountains in Wales and England are to be found here in the Snowdonia National Park. There’s also a long coastline of sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and glorious estuaries, which along the Llŷn Peninsula is a protected ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.

Mountain Safety Advice

The mountain tops are usally around 9C colder than in the valley so it's extremely important that you wear and carry the right equipment with you. Follow our advice below for a safe and enjoyable walk.

Carry a map, compass, torch, whistle and mobile phone. Ensure that you are able to use the map and compass. Whatever the weather in the valley, always carry warm spare clothes and waterproof clothes. Carry spare food. Ensure you are well equiped:  Waterproof jacket and trousers , warm trousers - preferably not jeans, fleece, gloves or mitts, warm hat and good ankle supporting boots. Check the forecast with the Met Office before setting off.
